Wobbly start

Well this is scary.  I’ve been catapulted into this blog stuff through deciding to write a poem a day for a month.  Thank you NaPoWriMo.   Bear with me.

Cleaning the Oven

 You could blow it away
this light as crunchie bars
black stuff.

You could mark the white walls
with roasted peppers
braised lamb
over-bubbled gooseberry juice
time -travel ancient cremated lunches
forward into now
hieroglyph a pie back into being.

How satisfying is that?

Dental Hygiene

 My dentist plays clarinet
in a band called Fishlips Soup
he thinks they’ll drop the Soup soon
and just be Fishlips.
I wonder what kind of fish…
carp with their voluptuous
cupid’s bow come kiss me quick
sipping the surface pouts,
or something sneerier
and with bigger teeth?
Rinse, he says.  Spit.
