Thoughts breaking over rocks

a day behind the door opens

and shut case          I forget
not him                     books
ancient                      … modern history
bunking up                …the reds
the creek                    …without your own canoe

and the day behind the door closes
in on me like sunglasses
shiraz cabernet        …that horses eat
your heart                 .. open as surgery
lifts a gin and tonic  . that you are
sunshine                  … taken 3 times
after mouths
until the screen is black with flies
who don’t know        this whiteness
is not plugged in to sap
