That time you disappeared in Somerset

what if that time when you suddenly became invisible
was something that I dreamt         ..and you never held
up that teatowel by its corners         covering your face
like a curtain    before you threw it sharply to one side
and yourself                                         .to the other
diving behind the sofa

diving into another dimension
previously unknown                          to the people of this planet
what if it never happened              ..and all those sly references
to magic and your ability to rip apart both time and space
were just a bunch of daft jokes     . your responses
simply pleasure in the strangeness of the words

but then again          …………………..even if it didn’t happen
it doesn’t mean it didn’t happen
